Mesotest®

The Oculus Mesotest® is an ophthalmology device designed to test mesopic vision and glare sensitivity. It evaluates a patient's visual performance in low-light conditions, which is crucial for assessing night-driving capability. The test uses a Landolt ring and different contrast levels, both with and without a glare source. This helps doctors evaluate patients before and after eye surgery, or when prescribing tinted lenses. It's a standardized instrument approved for driver's license regulations in some countries.
The Mesotest® II is an instrument for testing mesopic vision and glare sensitivity. This testing is an important supplement to photopic vision testing, especially for assessment of night driving ability and for occupational capability examinations. Pre- and post-operative testing of the mesopic vision and glare sensitivity of patients with intraocular lenses, or those who have undergone refractive surgery, is recommended, as well as for prescription of tinted lenses.
